Microsoft has put a lot of energy in to this and a lot of developers worked hard to make this happen. Same with Vista and IE. The quality of these software are not up to the mark for something that comes out of Microsoft. I expect great quality software from great developers. Nothing less. I know very well how complex the these systems are and I can imagine how passionate those developers are about their product.
Most of the times people who complain are ones who cannot get anything right. Some people try again and get things right and stop complaining. Some people give up after one try.
I get some errors running the sample application from the Game Studio whereas my friend did not get any problem. As a programmer I have to troubleshoot and find out what the problem is. The documentation does not have any details on what the problem is. Try googling NoRendererException. At this point the only thing I know is that it is coming from Audio engine. Audio is working perfectly on my machine.

I just downloaded and installed XNA and ran the MyFirstXNAGame sample. It ran fine but it brought the rest of my PC to a stand still. It is a 3.4 GHz Pentium D PC with ATI X850 graphics and 256 MB video memory. I understand this is just a beta. I am not sure what is wrong here.
Next step was to try the space war and I got this error. I have no clue what this means. I am excited about the whole program though.

Microsoft is releasing XNA Game Studio Express to the public free of cost. The XNA FAQ has details of how to get it. It is, well, almost free. Free for PC game development. If you need to do XBox 360 development, you need to subscribe to the creators club. The fee is considered to be nominal, but it is higher than the XBL subscription itself from what I read. I have already downloaded the latest DirectX SDK and installed.
I haven’t done any game development before and don’t expect myself to create any great games. What I would be looking forward is to figure out what else I can do with this framework.
