Intel had that for a long time. Even Apple computer had dual core dual CPU Mac Pros using Intel Dual Core CPUs for a long time now. Introduced in Aug 7, 2006.

Where did this guy come from? Can you believe that this guy writes for PC Magazine?

There seems to be no accountability for blabbering fan boy stuff (or utter ignorance) on reputed (or is it any more?) publications like this.

The guy writes on day when Intel is secretly showing 8 core machines using 2 quad core processors on the same board. This is almost at the time when AMD is able to show only a 4 core system using 2 dual core processors. Amazing journalism.

If you haven’t heard already, Intel has already designed a 45 nm chip and started sampling it which means they are closer to production of a 45 nm chip.

AMD and IBM together are now planning an 18 month chase to catch up with Intel. That is just a plan right now.

The newly announced Intel Core 2 Quad Extreme edition that will be released in November this year and the general desktop Core 2 Quad processors coming out in Q1’07 are already beating the much hyped AMD 4×4 architecture of using 2 AMD dual core processors on 2 different sockets on the same mother board. AMD’s quad core processors will be 6 months behind Intel’s quad core processors.
